It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you don’t stop
– Confucius

Weight has always been a tender subject with me and let’s be honest, is it ever an easy conversation to have when you are overweight and miserable?? I used to get so frustrated when some skinny perky blonde would talk to me about eating healthy, exercising more, and how to stay committed to a new lifestyle that I would have to forcibly control my eye roll. Now the tables have turned and I’ve become that perky (soon to be skinny again) blonde and I’m so excited to share my journey with you and how you can do the same! *cue eye roll*
But no seriously, all jokes aside, I fully understand where you are coming from because I’m just like you! (Yes, you right there!) Dieting isn’t easy, heck life isn’t easy!! Who wrote the rule book saying that as women (and some men) we had to: have well behaved, well rounded children, dinner on the table every night (why do they have to eat every day?!), work full time jobs, be loving and affectionate to our significant others, exercise until our butts look like a Brazilian goddess, meal prep and eat “perfect” with every single morsel, and of course keep our sanity and find a spare second for “Me” time without feeling like a selfish human being. It sucks. It’s hard. It can seem near impossible when faced with this all day, every day.
I’m here to tell you a little secret (this is one secret I want you to share though). You don’t have to be perfect or even close to it. I’m not perfect, at all, no matter how much people think I am. I love rich, bold red wine (and lots of it!) and delicious decadent food that make your toes curl just from the bold flavors. I love having lazy days on the couch with not one ounce of exercise in it, no chores being accomplished (I’m talking about you, mountain of laundry) and I’m in total bliss from the sheer nothingness of it. It’s acceptable to live your life fully and get out from under the pressure of the instagram perfection that runs our lives. I want you to embrace imperfection because in that acceptance, we find our stride and our balance.
Life has thrown me some difficult curve balls and some days I feel like I will never get ahead with my finances, my diet, my household chores, keeping up with my kids, being a good wife, and of course my own mental health and sanity. I have learned that each day needs to be taken one at a time because when you stare at the mountain you will only be terrified of the climb. I want to be that voice in the back of your head telling you that you can do it, you can eat a healthy lifestyle that has delicious foods, you can lose that baby weight that’s making you insecure, you are allowed to be human and make mistakes as long as you never give up. I won’t say it’s easy, it’s an adjustment, but if you want it, really want it, anything can be yours. Let me be your fairy godmother and I will help you make your dreams come true, all it takes is you and how bad you want it.
Keto is what works for me and that is why I want to share my knowledge with everyone to help you have success as well. But I know from experience that Basic Keto doesn’t work for everyone and that you might have to try some different approaches to get the style that works best for you. My job is to make you excited about your new lifestyle (because this is NOT a diet!) and to encourage you to push through your doubts and insecurities. Unfortunately I can’t do this for you (otherwise I would already be a billionaire living in the Bahamas with a mojito in both hands). You have to put forth the effort and the work, but I’m going to tell you that this would be the one decision you will never regret it and it will be the best present you could ever possibly give to yourself. Feeling pumped up? Ready to take on the Keto way of life?! Well, Let’s become Keto strong!
